The global demand for architectural services is accelerating, and now is a good time for practices to establish themselves internationally in regions experiencing significant growth such as India, the Middle East, China, and Eastern Europe. In India alone foreign direct investment this year is estimated to be worth around $9 billion, nearly double last year's total. More than 12 million homes, 600 shopping malls, 80 million square feet of offices, and 200 townships are planned for construction by 2010.
